Introduction

Melrose and Morgan are a unique grocery shop and kitchen providing a range of seasonal foods, hand-prepared with premium ingredients.

About Melrose and Morgan

Melrose and Morgan offer both fresh produce for you to cook at home as well as a wide-range of their own prepared dishes. 60% of the food they sell is made by their in-house team of chefs. The food is all handmade – not manufactured – in small batches so you know the quality is consistently high.

The two shops feature friendly open kitchens where you can watch the chefs at work. They encourage customers to spend time, chat with their chefs and floor staff about ingredients and cooking tips.

The Requirements

Melrose and Morgan operate two shops in London, one in Primrose Hill and the other in Hampstead Village. Both shops run a café alongside the delicatessen counter and customers are encouraged to come and enjoy time spent at the cafe.

Due to the nature of the Melrose and Morgan set up they need an EPoS system that could handle both the café and the delicatessen side of the business. On top of that they also wanted to be able to manage the stock and sales reports from one central location.

The Solution

EPoS System for Delis

The EPoS System provided by Retail Computer Solutions (RCS) includes the latest Touch screen EPoS Terminals installed at each of Melrose and Morgan’s retail locations. The RCS EPoS system incorporates Integrated Chip & Pin facilities with linked check out scales and deli scales from Bizerba for speed of transaction and efficiency at point of sale.

As requested the RCS EPoS system allows Melrose and Morgan to have central stock control of its two retail store locations from its Head office. A VPN connects the two stores to the head office software allowing stock management of both stores from one central database.

Further Options

Future additional options available to Melrose and Morgan Deli include customer loyalty, portable hand held terminals and integrated e-commerce for a truly multi-channel retail technology solution.

Bizerba Scales

The Bizerba scales are located in the deli areas of the stores producing price embedded barcode labels for weighed items.

In turn these labels are applied to the goods allowing the epos system to efficiently scan the barcodes at point of sale once the customer has finished shopping.

The RCS epos solution allows for central control of multiple stores, product promotions, prices changes, customer accounts and product labelling.
